WB Starep Conference
Within the framework of Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership (STAREP), World Bank (WB) organized a seminar, which was held in Yerevan on June 30, 2016. The Audit Manager Lilit Mayilyan and Director-Shareholder Albert Asatryan from ASATRYANS Company participated in the Seminar. It should be noted that STAREP program was created by the WB on October 1, 2013.
Six Eastern Partnership countries are Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Moldova. The above stated 6 countries have done voluminous work to increase corporate reporting and audit development.
During the seminar, presentations were made by the delegates from the STAREP Program member countries, presenting their achievements and the activities performed. Besides, speeches were made by the EU Commission Members Erik van der Plaats, Claude Bokeras and Thomas Csabon, who presented the EU regulations and directives on preparing financial reporting and consolidated reports, as well as the accountability of listed companies.
The seminar led to acquisition of attractive information, and a general insight was obtained regarding corporate reporting and the accountability of listed companies applicable in a number of European countries.
